Husband demands 50% of Pabi’s estate

Pabi Moloi is in a legal battle with their ex-husband and baby daddy over the legality of their customary marriage and division of their estate.

Ruan Adams who claims to have married Pabi in 2016 and had paid R25000 of lobola for her is demanding spousal support and wants a share of their multimillion-rand estate after the separation.

The estate includes 6 houses, a house in Broadacres, Noordwyk, Elton Hill, Edenburg, and two houses in Waverly, a Jeep Cherokee, and a Suzuki. Ruan also wants Pabi to pay him R8500 monthly as spousal support so that he may continue to live the luxurious life that he got used to during their marriage.

Pabi denies being married to him in any legal or customary terms. Ruan’s lawyer has sent a letter that states that he owns 50% of the estate. In the letter, Ruan who has a baby with Pabi ended the marriage because there was no longer any love between them.

Ruan’s lawyer has advised Pabi to disclose all the properties and vehicles to the joint estate.

Pabis’s lawyer replied to Ruan’s lawyer, “Our client specifically denies that she ever married to your client, be in terms of civil let or customary law, as such our client denies any joint estate exists between her and your client.”

In light of the above, our client is in no position to furnish your client, nor is your client entitled to demand the financial documentation requested.
