Dupped as the goddess of small screen celebrated South African actress Baby Cele is making headlines after she turned a year old. The seasoned actress is best known for her on-screen character on Mzansi’s most-watched drama series Uzalo aired on SABC. The bubbly actress joined the club 50, which refers to an actress who has reached the age of 50-years.
However, of interest is that her birthday comes barely a few days after Gomora star actress Sannah Mchunu best known as Zodwa. A few days ago, the bubbly actress hogged the headlines after she also turned 50-years. Mzansi showered Gabisile with some birthday wishes in the mix of things but still found it hard to believe that she is 50-years-old.

The award-winning-actress was born on 22 March 1972 in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. We all thought she was younger, given her on-screen energy and vibe. No doubt the showrunners played us.

She had her shot to fame in 1986 when she made her first debut on small screens. In the mix of things, she was cast in Sarafina, where she starred alongside some of Mzansi’s finest, the likes of Leleti Khumalo, best known as MaZulu on etvs drama series Imbewu: The Seed.
She made all sorts of headlines with her Kaltego Rathebe on-screen character on Backstage, which she starred in for eight years. However, in the wake of her newfound fame, she starred in My Perfect family as Portia. In the mix of things, she was cast in Shreds and Dreams play as Beauty.

With an illustrious career spanning years, the bubbly actress has been nominated more than for time for the Golden Hord Award for the best female actress. In 2012 she joined the star-studded cast of Mzansi Magic telenovela Inkaba as Slindile Dludlu.
However, in the backdrop of her exit in 2013, she went on to beg a lead role on Zabalaza as Gasta Cele. She starred in Isidingo as Sibongile Nene three years later before switching the floor to Uzalo. In recent years she has been the face of Uzalo and is one of the most-paid cast members on the drama series.
