Khabonina Qubeka made her debut appearance on Generations The Legacy on July 8, 2021. She played the role of the mysterious and charming Oby who was Kumkani Phakade’s wife, played by Vuyo Dabula.

Her storyline on the show was set on black magic, strange rituals and the selling of human organs. Fortunately Kumkani’s ex wife Tshidi (Letoya Makhene) was there to save the day as she discovered the strange things happening behind closed doors at the Phakade’s. Tshidi had noticed something was off about Kumkani’s new wife Oby and she decided to snoop around.

 

 

 

 

 
After discovering the dark things that Oby and Kumkani were into, Tshidi turned to her friend Lucy (Manaka Ranaka) to help her dig for proof. A plan was made by the pair to strip Oby of her supernatural powers. Luckily for Tshidi the plan worked as she was about to be sliced open by Ayanda Majola who was hypnotized by Oby’s powers.

That’s how the great Oby exited Generations The Legacy, which left many viewers disappointed. For someone who was so powerful, viewers expected her to try and fight for her powers and try to defeat her enemies. For her character to simply leave with no explanations or fighting was a dissapointment for her fans.

It seems Oby is making a comeback to the show in April 2022. April teasers have revealed that Oby will be back, but no mention of her estranged husband Kumkani. Episode 99(1919), which will be broadcasted on Thursdays April 7, 2022 reads” The arrival of an unexpected visitor sends shockwaves through the penthouse “. The penthouse being mentioned used to be Kumkani’s and where he and Oby used to live in.

“Clearly Oby turning over a new leaf was all just a big act” reads episode 102(1922). It seems Oby has unfinished business with Ayanda and has not repent from her old ways. Episode 112(1932) which will play on Tuesday, 26 April 2022, reveals that Oby is still as manipulative and conniving as before as she will manipulate a young girl to get information.
