Skeem Saam: John moves on and refuses to release Meikie from jail

John is extremely tiring. I’m finding it hard to contemplate how he managed to secure his family for so long. He is a very scandalous man who never lost any opportunity at promiscuity. In the process, the child next door was created (Zamokuhle).

 

 

 

Meikie lost her head when she realised that the man she sold her heart and soul to for free had betrayed her to a point of no return. She shot at the family next door and scraped whatever friendship and relationship the two families had. She is now in jail for trying to kill Mantuli and her son, with the intention to kill them.

As it stands now, there’s a chance for Meikie to appeal and be granted freedom but her husband is dragging his feet.

Instead of being in the forefront of granting his wife some freedom, he excuses his lack of excitement as a fear that she might try to kill Zamokuhle yet again, and if he were to choose, he’d choose him over his wife.

Even with her in prison, not once has he tried to visit her and assure her of his support. Instead, he’s used the time to expose that his love for her is not unconditional. He does not care about her.

On last night’s episode, he was seen getting very cosy with Melita. Could that be also the reason that he refuses to release his wife from jail? So that he can continue with his scandalous life?

Knowing John’s track record, it would not come as a surprise for him to actually end up in an entanglement with Melita. She’s desperate for an extension of her contract and he’s desperate for affection from anyone who’s not his murderous wife.
