Popular Uzalo Female Actor Claims That She Didn’t See This Coming

It Dudu Ngcobo did not see it coming now she is everyone’s favorite after beginning her acting career at the age of forty-nine.

Ngcobo never imagined or dreamed that she will be a star one day, She is one of SA’s loved actresses due to her various talents. She plays the role of Babekazi in uZalo which screens every weekday from 20.30. Ngcobo also graces the eTV as the hospital manager at the Durban Gen which is also a weekly drama played at 18.30. Dr. Qwabe does not play with anyone, she is a hardcore manager who takes no-nonsense. But the role of Babekazi made her stand out in her career. Babekazi was determined to find out the truth about the death of her niece Nomcebo who was played by Nombulelo Mhlongo.


When she wants to perform well or speak her mind she drinks alcohol and tea at the same time. Babekazi did not give Gabisile any rest a role played by Baby Cele Maloka. She put her in a corner to squeeze the truth out of her and believed she killed Mhlongo. In her role as babekazi she like her drink which is tea and hot stuff which she drinks before she talks all the naughty words that she can think of. When talking to the media Ngcobo said she grew up in Lamontville and lived as a tomboy.

Her fame came about while she was in Johannesburg relaxing at her home in 2014, a young lady encouraged her to take lessons in the Africa film Drama Arts as she was also assigned. She was skeptical at first and also was afraid of failing as she had never played in any drama. She was urged to be comfortable and be herself and this contributed a lot. Ngcobo was able to make it with beautiful marks and she was praised for her hard work. Ngcobo got injured while performing and she was cut by a swimming pool tile. In the show, they were many producers from different companies, who were all impressed by her ability and she soon started to receive calls for interviews.

That is her story of how she began acting at the age of 49, since then she did not look back she has been doing adverts and got roles in other Mzansi magic dramas. Ngcobo has taken part in the Promise, Muvhango, Hostel, and Greed and Desire. Though she had a cut on her leg while at her children’s home in Johannesburg that has not stopped her to do what she loves the most. She also revealed that she has no special man in her life as she is concentrating on raising her three children and her grandchildren.
