If you remember correctly, about a year ago; Phumeza’s rude cousin Zanele gave birth to ‘baby number 8’ and Phumeza wasn’t happy about that at all. This was because, both Zanele and her boyfriend were not having it easy. Zanele actually had to steal to get the finer things in life.

At the similar allotment of time, the Mthembus were there and they had been desperately looking for a child. Phumeza sympathized with them. When she went to check on the baby of the Mthembus, she realized that the baby didn’t make it and because her cousin had already given birth a number of times, Phumeza decided to swap the babies without their knowledge.

 

 

 

Opinion:

Lies may travel faster than the truth, but the truth can withstand the test of time and at the appointed time, the truth comes out. It does not matter how long it will take, but at the end, a day that is. like no other indeed cones and there’s no other way but the truth makes its way out to whoever needs to know.

It is not hard to understand that Phumeza did a bad thing for a good reason which is something that most of us have done, are doing and will still do. Does it make it the right thing to do? No.

At this point, not only Phumeza’s career is on the line but Nkabine, Qwabe and Sibiya’s also since they played part in the cover up. The best shot that Phumeza has is to even lie some more and say she does not know how the babies were swapped. Yes, the reputation of the hospital might take a knock; but the organization will recover. If Phumeza gets caught, she won’t survive even a single day in prison. She is sweet and notably a brilliant nurse. But this one mistake will seemingly haunt her for a lifetime.
