The wife of the late veteran actor revealed the reason behind Patrick’s death. A memorial service was held on Thursday 27th of January 2022. Patrick passed away on the 22nd of January at the age of 66.

Patrick shocked mzansi by taking his life while everyone was least expecting it. Fans were left with questions as to what could have led to the ageing actor taking his own life at his home. In life he seemed to be doing well with his career, wife and children. Nobody would have thought someone like him could take his life.

Speculations were going around on social media between people who had their different conclusions. For others, the blame was put on a well known rapper and businessman Cassper Nyovest and his fans.

Nevertheless, Patrick Shai was an anti-gender-based violence activist. He has consulted with people who have shared their painful stories with him.

Patrick’s wife Masechaba Shai revealed during memorial service that Patrick passed away due to emotional load that he was carrying on his shoulders. Every time people coming to him with their emotional backgrounds. He was struggling to cope as he was not professionally trained for counselling. He therefore found the only way to move away from it all.
