TV and radio personality, Dineo Ranaka has suffered a huge blow after Metro FM decided to suspend her for misconduct.

Little did she knew that her dance could land her in trouble, otherwise she should have been very careful and avoid doing it.

Surely in her mind, she was just all about participating in the viral dance challenge that is trending on social media. Even many celebrities have joined in to do that dance challenge, so Dineo probably wanted to be amongst them too. Most certain, in her mind, she did not think that it will go too far. Unfortunately it did and has costed her job as she is now suspended.

This viral dance called #UmlandoChallenge is very popular these days as it is an Amapiano song. People post on social media their videos dancing to these song and doing that dance challenge.

The wrong thing that Dineo did was to dance ontop of the tables and chairs inside the SABC building. She was seen dancing at the offices, corridors and in the studio. She stood on top of these expensive furniture.

Now, SABC has decided to suspend her for this action.

The SABC’s group executive, Gugu Ntuli confirmed that Dineo has been suspended because of misconduct but she did not go deep.

In the statement SABC released, confirmed the suspension of Dineo:

SABC can confirm that Dineo Ranaka is not scheduled on Metro FM at this stage and as a matter of principle, the corporation does not discuss matters relating to its independent contractors in public.

These days, Ranaka is not available on her show, The Bridge that airs on weekdays between 9:00 and 12:00. The show is currently being presented by Marian Nyako-Lartey who has taken over Dineo’s duties on air.

Other celebrities that have done this challenge to sympathize with Dineo on her suspension included Thando Thabethe from 947 Radio and Pearl Thusi.
