Dulas Magubane is not a fan favourite on Mnakwethu. He’s more like the villain and has people loving to hate watching him and wondering how he gets all the beautiful women around him.
I think that this time he’s gone a little bit too far with twenty-one year old student Nokuthula Mazibuko

Last season we saw him introduce another woman into his already rickety marriage and this season? Madlamini has packed up her bags and decided to part ways with him. It is such a wonderful step for her to take even though her brothers don’t agree.

Dulas was able to bring sheep’s head and alcohol and they gladly sat and ate with him. We had to endure a speech about how his deceased brother wanted a wife (yawn). It’s the excuse most of the men who want a polygamist lifestyle use. They seemed to be in agreement with him but that didnt surprise me in the least.

The age gap was a major concern to me though. You’ll recall that on Mnakwethu age is often an issue. Young girls paired with men much older than them and even meeting them while they were at questionable ages like 16. I have to give pause whenever age is revealed.

Nokuthula is only 21 and assuming the show was filmed last year, it means she was born in the year 2000. With Dulas being 34, the age gap is quite suspicious to me. Perhaps the point is to be with someone inexperienced in order to take advantage of their naivete. But it was very strange.

Personal Thoughts
I feel like people don’t take the age thing very seriously but it is important to note of. That it’s become so normal to date people who don’t know any better.

As someone who has witnessed polygamous marriages, they are not for young folks. There is a lot of tension, arguing and most of the time, the use of witchcraft. It is a dangerous game that even older women fail at. To bring a twenty one year old into it is selfish and unfair.
