Nonhle Thema, a TV host, is mourning the death of her father, renowned author and actor Derrick Thema.
She took to social media to share the heartbreaking news. “”Derrick Thema, my father, is one of a kind. I will always love you, King. Rest easy, daddy; I’ll have you say hello to the rest of the Thema clan for me,” she wrote.
She took to her Instagram stories to thank her father for sending her children to the best schools and for loving all of his children. Messages of condolence for the Thema family have been pouring in on social media since she shred the sad news.
“I went to the same high school as your brother and at this one parents’ evening for some reason my Mom and I didn’t have transport to get home to Soweto and your Dad dropped us off in Dobsonville, which was way out of his way,” @Rainyrad commented on her post. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his family find strength. “Lord, hear our prayer.”

“Nothing could have prepared me for your bereavement… I saw and felt your maternal love. Thank you for welcoming me into your home 11 years ago; you welcomed me as a daughter in love, not as a daughter in law. “I’ve always said you and the boys exemplified what love between a grandmother and her grandchildren is,” she wrote.
Millicent ended her lengthy and heartfelt post by bidding her mother-in-law farewell. She promised to tell her daughter how hard she fought to meet her.
The kids are crazy about you. I still don’t know how to tell them you’ve left. When I look at them, I feel weak. Go well, Mommy; we will love you until the end of time. We already miss you. I’ll tell your granddaughter how hard you fought to meet her, but I know she felt your love every time you rubbed my stomach.”
