Durban- Media personality and businesswoman, Shauwn Mkhize has kept her promise of building 20 houses for the less fortunate.
Now, she recently handed over the keys of the 10th house she has built. This put her in the halfway markof building 20 houses.
The Royal AM boss said this was her way giving back to the communities. MaMkhize stated that the point in building 20 houses is to celebrate her 20 years experience of being in the construction business. This is why she decided to build these 20 houses.
This time around she was joined by Ukhozi FM and Sandile Zungu, the President of Amazulu fc.
As MaMkhize was handing over the keys, she left the destitute mother of 5 in tears
On Tuesday,this week, MaMkhize alongside Zungu held hands on as they gifted this family with a beautiful house, just in time for Christmas.
The two soccer managers gave over this house to the Gcaba family in KwaMashu C area, KZN. This house has a three bedroom which is completely fitted with beds, TV, oven and a refrigerator.
Amazulu gave her additionally food items worth R10 000 to the family.
Gugu Gcaba, the recipient of this house said that her old house was torched in April and was left homeless. She was full of tears as she was being handed over the keys. The experience of being without a house had made them to endure difficulties alongside her five youngsters.
She said that they had no power and water since 2012. With the burning of the house, their lives changed for the worse.
Zungu said that she heard MaMkhize on Ukhozi FM saying that she will build a house for the family and he was touched as he decided to join her.
They then decided to contribute R100 000 towards furniture and other things of the house.
MaMkhize built this house through her company, Zikhulise Group which is in construction business.
She was touched by the story of having no home and she felt the need to build this family a house. MaMkhize said that she promised them that they will have a new house by December and that is exactly what she delivered.
