Since the death of Archbishop Desmond Tutu was announced earlier today (Sunday 26 December), it has become very clear that a lot of South Africans have conflicting feelings about the late Archbishop’s history, and contribution to South Africa.
Some people see Desmond Tutu as a national hero for what he did during the apartheid regime alongside Nelson Mandela, but others will remember him for asking Mama Winnie Mandela to apologise for things that she did not do, and also for standing up for white people after the end of the apartheid regime.
Popular South African singer and songwriter Simphiwe Dana believes that Archbishop Desmond Tutu has good intentions and she sent her condolences after his death, but she also said that it is hard for her to get over some of the things he has done in the past, as she also criticized him in Twitter…
