Bonga Dlamini, who recently returned from Uzalo, says it is up to the spectators to decide whether he will settle down or disappear within the show.
Bonga plays Mkhonto in the show at 8.30pm on weekdays on SABC 1.
He also took Nosipho (Nompilo Maphumulo) home with him in Umzimkhulu, since he was his uncle as he was born to Muzi “Gxabhashe” Xulu (Mpumelelo Bhulose).
When he left Zalo years ago, Mkhonto disappeared on his way home.
“My role model has grown. The character is still the head of the Xulu, Gxabhashe, Makhatini family. He has become the head of the family, he is the father and he even says to Nosipho “you are my brother’s daughter, my older brother, I am your father, I give birth to you,” said Bonga.
He said he too as an actor has grown because he now understands things better and is no longer in a hurry when he does them.
“Since people could not see me, not because I was sitting but working hard. It is possible, however, that if you have been running alone and then you are running as a team, there are things that you feel are not being done. That makes you change to fit in. Exercising alone is helpful because it is less frequent and less frequent than before. ”
He said since he left it has never changed, people still called him Mkhonto when they met him on the street and wanted him back.
“I am happy to be back. Fans and viewers, it is in their hands to say whether they are happy on social media. It’s a pleasure and something that inspires their comments and I will always accept the opportunity to be on television. They do not tell people what they want! Whoever is interested in seeing me should not come out so that I can say no and they will cry. ”
