Afro soul music star, Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkutukana, says it doesn’t matter if anyone accuses her of being drunkard but she knows that’s she’s not.

Zahara, who is famous for her songs Loliwe and Phendule, had an interviewer with ISolezwe on Saturday after people asked her for help and prayer on social media. This came after the spread of her drunken-looking video of her . In this short video that has spread on Twitter, Zahara sings the song Ndize but captures this strangeness. Explaining the video, she said it was misquoted to portray the wrong situation.

 

 

 

 

 

“I was singing a song in honor of my sister who passed away earlier this year. I didn’t know it was going to be painful. People always like to criticize alcohol when it’s me and it doesn’t bother me anymore,” Zahara concludes.

Zahara’s older sister Nomonde died in March, after a car accident. She was a member of the faith music group Mkutukana Sisters, who released an album in 2016 and is featured in Zahara’s song, God Is In The Valley.

She is not new to the subject of drunkenness. She did so during a visit to her home by some young men in August. That day she sang the song Loliwe.

Asked one time when she appeared to be holding a cap begging for donations from the people, Zahara simply did not answer. And her manager Eric Gyimah failed to give up when he tried to celebrate her to answer if she was confused.

People have suspected that Zahara is still missing after being arrested for failing to appear in court on a tax evasion charge. The Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court was forced to issue a warrant for her arrest after repeated failures, to defend herself against SARS tax evasion. It helped that she turned herself in to the police.
