I would like to believe that modern medicine is not far different from our African traditional medicine. As a matter of fact the modern medicine we have comes from the traditional medicine.
The difference between modern medical practitioners and our traditional healers is the beliefs and methods but at the end of the day in most cases they both get the work done.
When adopted outside its traditional culture, traditional medicine is often considered a form of alternative medicine. … Scientific disciplines which study traditional medicine include herbalism, ethnomedicine, ethnobotany, and medical anthropology.
Traditional African medicine, with its belief that illness is not derived from chance occurrences, but through spiritual or social imbalance, differs greatly from modern scientific medicine, which is technically and analytically based.
A female traditional healer recently smashed the internet as she celebrated her craft and healing powers after she posted this.👇🏾
A lot of comments were shared on Twitter regarding this post, most people responded positively to the healer which is a clear sign that a lot of Africans accept and believe in our traditional medicine. In my opinion it is a good thing to acknowledge African medicine, it is very difficult to ignore something that exists. African medicine is real and to those who believe in its healing powers it works wonders for them.
