The name Moeketsi comes from her father, Kgomotso Moeketsi, who is also known as KG. Her mother is a well-known figure in the film and television industries. She made her name as a radio hostess by anchoring a breakfast show for many years.

NSA in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, was where Moeketsi learned to draw and paint. As of 2009, she was a student at New York City’s Greenwich Village’s New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.

Moeketsi is married to Solo (Zothile Langa), a South African rapper. It took the pair three years of courting before they were able to tie the knot in September of this year.
