‘Skeem Saam’s’ Pebetsi Matlaila Shows Off Her Babies, Preaching the Strength of Women

Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Nolo Matlaila (34) is known to keep details of her personal life private. Like when she got married to director, Lloyd Mbatha in November 2020, it was a complete surprise to even her followers.

Taking to social media to show off her babies, Pebetsi reflected on the strength of a woman. Women are the pillars of strengths in families and the glue that holds communities together. She also opened up about her child birth experience and how grateful she was that she and her baby pulled through.

 

 

 

 

 

Skeem Saam actress Pebetsi Matlaila once confirmed that when she gave birth — she and her baby nearly lost their lives due to preeclampsia complications (preeclampsia affects the arteries carrying blood to the placenta). Pre-eclampsia is a potentially dangerous pregnancy complication characterised by high blood pressure. It usually begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy in a woman whose blood pressure had been normal. It can lead to serious, even fatal, complications for both mother and baby.

In an accompanying message, Matlaila detailed that it took her nine months, the length of a normal full-term pregnancy, to put on the baby weight. Pebetsi posted a picture of herself heavily pregnant, with a reminder to followers of the weight gain that came with pregnancy and how there’s no way she was going to resort to crazy stunts to get rid of it.

However, the super mom fought back and did not simply shy away from adding that the expectations are unrealistic, although her decision is not to subject herself to dangerous methods simply to uphold the status quo.

She argues that it takes a woman nine months to gain weight, which is a full-term pregnancy to put on baby weight, and stressed that it takes nine months to put off the weight in reality.
