Mzansi actor, Shona Ferguson was laid to rest on Monday morning after he succumbed to Covid19 complications. His private funeral was broadcast on several online platforms. The family opted for a private send off but they provided links to allow fans to be part of the last event Shona would ever have.
His widow,Connie Ferguson’s message was so moving and left many in tears. “One thing I do know for sure my love is that you are walking with the lord, and you have been preparing for this day all your life. Because everything you did you did with such passion,” Connie said in a recorded message. The exhaustion in her voice was so heartbreaking. I personally don’t think I would have been strong in this case.
“I have to find it in me to continue until I’m ready to join you. This is not goodbye my love because love like you and I have does not die. You continue on in my heart and our children’s heart. Thank you Sho for everything. I love you my baby.”
Listening to Connie Ferguson speech, you couldn’t help but break into tears. Connie reminds me of Job . Job understood that the Lord gives and takes. He understood that sometimes God takes everything from us to give us everything and he did not curse the Lord once for his pain – that’s what I see in her, so much faith in pain.
Every speaker came in and said Shona was a family man… Honestly that’s one of the things that made many love him. You’d literally see him with Connie in every picture. Many agree that they wanna be like him. Family comes first.
Among other dignitaries were minister Nathi Mthethwa.
We might have never met him but we had a piece of him in our leaving rooms every night , we fell in love with him through watching how he loved his family. He touched each of us in so many different way. Forever in our hearts Uncle Sho.
