Thuso Mbedu Family
Thuso Nokwanda Mbedu was born and raised in Pelham, a borough of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Her mother passed on due to a brain tumour when she was 4 years old. She was raised by her grandmother as her mother had seperated with her father before she was born. Her granny’s name was Thokozile, while her mother was called Gladness.
Thuso did not have a relationship with her father until when her mother passed on. Her father passed on in 2012 and shortly after that in 2013, her grandmother was laid to rest. Thuso has a sister, Nomalungelo Mbedu, that she is very close too.

Thuso went to Pelham Primary School and attended Pietermaritzburg Girls High School. When Mbedu was eighteen, she attended the University of Witwatersrand, where she studied Physical Theatre and Performing Arts Management, resulting her graduating with an honours. In 2012, she attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, USA
Thuso Mbedu Career
Thuso landed a role on Isibaya in 2013. In late 2014 she had a small role in the second season of the Mzansi Magic soapie isiBaya, before landing her role as journalism student and wild child Kitso on Scandal!. She then had a guest role as Kheti on the second season of the SABC 2 teen drama series Snake Park.
Thuso Mbedu Boyfriend
The actress was at many times rumoured to be romantically involved with Dr Musa Mthombeni. Once, Thuso publicly turned down Musa and he his heart was distraught. Musa was ready to deliver the cows that were needed to have Thuso’s hand in marriage. However, Thuso kindly rejected the offer and politiely said ‘it would never say happen. Our advice, NEVER say NEVER
However, the two have come out and publicly declared that they are just friends and there’s nothing going on between them. Thuso made this clear during an interview with DJ Fresh on the Fresh breakfast show.
In a twist of events, early last year Thuso received a gift from Musa and this made her love life the talk of the town yet again. She received a bunch of red roses from the doctor and she had this to say,
The sweet caption read:” Ahaawu a whole 100 roses Boi?.”, she continued to write:” Thanks Dokotela.”
