The new Zulu royal household budget has been given R66m less than last year’s amount, Sihlelenihen’i Dlamini, the premier, revealed on Friday on Monday, which has been allotted an R5m fall.m less in allocation.
“This budget is allotted for traditional and cultural events such as the crowning of the king, as well as for heritage and tradition purposes like holding the national prayer days,” said Zikala.”
The spending budget is for the current year, which is only 71.3 million. Last year, the house had received seventy-one million South African rand, which is equivalent to R71.
The rest of the year’s events in the royal household have already benefited from the budget availability (six have already been funded and two have been completed).
Zikala explained that most of these events took place virtually, as a result of the Covina city rules.
