DJ Miss K was the one of the top female DJs from KZN.

But now she is no more.
 

According to her mum Mariah Masilela, after complaining that she felt weak on Monday 3 May, she went to the local clinic in Inanda, Durban.

“But she didn’t come back. We only received a call informing us of her death. I was shocked because I thought her illness was not serious,” said Mariah.DJ Miss K was one of the first female DJs to make it big in a male-dominated industry.

She started with the likes of DJ Cndo, rocking the decks in clubs and local shows.

The two were later joined by DJ HappyGal, who was followed by Sithelo The DJ, DJ Tira’s dancer Slenda The Dancing DJ and other aspiring female DJs.My daughter loved her career. She had no time to rest. She worked hard as a DJ. I still don’t believe that she’s gone,” said Mariah.

On her Instagram and Twitter accounts, DJ Cndo expressed her heartbreak about the death of DJ Miss K.

“KZN artists United for @djmiss k-Masilela #Rest In Peace sweetheart @ djmiss K-Masilela,” wrote DJ C’ndo.
