Ntsiki Mazwai has taken to her social media to throw shade at Thuso Mbedu following her recent two gigs on American films.
Thuso’s series, where she plays lead called The Underground Railroad sees her playing a slave who seeks refuge from slave catchers.
Many of the star’s fans and other celebrities were happy for her but Ntsiki felt unimpressed and disappointed.
In her words, she feels Thuso is “cooning” and she is taking such roles which centres around slavery, to appeal to the American audience.
“To be accepted as an actor in America, you have to play the slave, basically cooning,” she wrote.

All these American movies with blacks as slaves…. And no American movies with whites as oppressors.
The focus is on reminding blacks that they are slaves.
