The story of Durban Gen is the soapie that plays from Monday to Friday on etv at 18h30 and is set in the core of Newlands East, a township of Durban ,where the many famous and noticeable academic public hospital. The soapie is about the life of the main character intern doctor Mbali Mthethwa who relocated from rural area to the big city of Durban, away from her husband -to-be and the township they grew up in ,to work for her final year of community service at the Durban General Hospital. Mbali is involve with two men which is her fiancé Sibusiso Dlamini and her boyfriend Doctor Lindelani Zulu who also works at Durban General Hospital ,Dr. Zulu is very intelligent, charming surgeon who whom Mbali has irrefutable chemistry.
First appearance at Durban General Hospital, Mbali helps a risky surgery that goes extremely wrong, leading the passing of MEC. The case placed Mbali and Dr.Lindelani Zulu into the interior of an investigation that looms to disrupt Mbali’s career before it has even starts. In the meantime, her immediacy to Dr. Zulu, leading affection and their tangible interaction looms to break everything Mbali has erected back home with her fiancé Sibusiso.
