Various stations shared different winners, however Khuzani walked away with the biggest nod of the night for his song ‘Ijele. Big Zuluwas top of the trends shortly after the announcement.

Big Zulu was not robbed. Until yall understand ukuthi Maskandi music is big in KZN, they will start dominating the Song of The Year. People must vote not complain.
The song of the year had almost a million votes, double the amount that got 2nd place and I won’t even mention Big Zulu. Maskandi fans don’t play #UkhoziFMNYE2020
Many South Africans felt that Big Zulu was robbed of his rightful title for his smash hit ‘Imali Eningi’ featuring Ricky Ricky.
Ukhozi FM however uses a voting system and many people voted for the song that was crowned and was reportedly slightly off the million mark in terms of votes. Many people were shocked for undermining the Maskandi genre.
