Just when some people probably thought that this would not happen, then it happens. A lot of people had probably thought that everything would go on as normal and the Bushiri matter would be forgotten for some time.
Well, not after what has happened and if you have not heard the news yet, I will fill you in. It is said that the Malawian government is making some moves to do what they have to do.
The Malawian government confirmed confirmed that there is a process in place and the intention is to arrest the self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife, Mary.
What has been done so far? The process had begun so I suppose will have to be patient on this one and hope that we will get an update before the end of this week.
That could be unlikely, but we are not ruling out anything because one can never tell how long the process will take. As you might know, this comes after the South African government filed a formal extradition request for the Bushiris.
There is some signature that has to come from the minister of homeland security in Malawi. This will go to court for some approval and once the court issues the arrest warrants, then it is go time.
The businessman and his wife will have to be taken into custody, basically, they will be arrested after the warrants of arrest have been issued. As for now, the waiting game begins, it is said that this process right here might take a while, hopefully, it does not take too long, though.
There are probably a lot of people from South Africa who are eager to know the outcome because this story has been going on for some time and it just got people interested.
And now that we are here, I suppose we can say that, at least in some areas, there is progress that is being made. The information that people got to know about was, of course confirmed by Gospel Kazako who is the minister of information in Malawi.
People are probably just waiting to hear when the courts will act on the request that will be made by the attorney general and that is if the request has not been made yet.
Things might move quickly, let us hope that the courts will do what they need to do as soon as possible so that we can know what the next step is.
