Award-winning musician Mlindo The Vocalist, has apologized to his fans following a video that went viral on Twitter yesterday raising many eyebrows, which had many people speculating that he might have been too intoxicated at an event in Soshanguve.

What was supposed to be a joyous evening for the musician who was booked to entertain his fans ended up being a sad one because he was not able to walk and perform on stage.

In the disturbing video which dominated the Twitter trends list yesterday, the musician can be seen struggling to walk and losing his balance. He is then seen being carried off stage by what looks like his team members with fans making noise in the background.

The video has left many fans speculating on whether he was drunk or not and with some fans speculating that someone spiked the musician’s drink. In a statement, he released on Twitter this morning, the Ama Blesser hitmaker apologized for what transpired over this past weekend and said he takes full responsibility for his actions. He further said he will do better next time without explaining further what happened.

“I would like to sincerely apologize to my supporters and everyone for everything that took place this past weekend, I will not get into details but I take full responsibility for my actions and I will not blame it on anyone but myself. I will be better and act better next time,” he wrote on Twitter.Although he did not get into details on what led to him be carried off stage, speaking to SowetanLIVE yesterday, Mlindo debunked rumours that he was drunk and said he struggled to walk due to his old knee injury

“I have a problem with my knees and yesterday [Monday] the venue was packed and the stage was wet,”

I was performing the last song of the evening and someone pulled me into the crowd and I couldn’t get up which is why a bodyguard had to come and pick me up,” he said

One of his team members Matshepo Seloi told the publication that if Mlindo was intoxicated they wouldn’t have approved that he performs.

“If he was drunk we would have never let him perform and his friends would’ve been the ones to remove him off the stage but we knew the problem was bigger,” said Seloi
