Unathi Nkayi Msengana
Unathi Nkayi Msengana is a South African radio personality, singer and actress. She is best known for hosting hosting shows on youth station YFM and Metro Fm’s drive-time show, with Glen Lewis.

Unathi Nkayi was selected to replace Mara Louw on SA Idols in 2011 as a judge and has been with show ever since, now 5 seasons.

Unathi Nkayi married to DJ Thomas Msengana, popularly known as Bad Boy T on 19 September 2009. The couple separated in 2017 for undisclosed reasons.

Unathi Nkayi has two children with her ex-husband Thomas Msengana. The children are Sinako Msengana and Imbo Msengana.
Xhosa tribalism comments
On 11 November 2019 Unathi Nkayi issued out an apology for comments she had made to Luyolo a 2019 SA Idols finalist. While congratulating Luyolo she had said Xhosa are “tired of holding up the nation.” Unathi Nkayi herself who is a judge on SA Idols is a Xhosa like Luyolo and come from Eastern Cape. Many South Africans felt her comments promoted division and demand she apologises.
Unathi apologised for the comments.
“It saddens me that I have broken so many hearts with what I said tonight. What I saw was a beautiful joke being passed around this past week by so many South Africans not necessarily Xhosa and wanted to share.”
