The country has been set abuzz by one man for the past 2 years. Everywhere you go people are dancing to his music or artists his brought into the game. He has single-handedly had the music game in the palm of his hands. Yes, we’re talking about the king of his, madumane, King pori pori himself. He is known through his music but little know about his biography.

His real name is Themba “Sunny-boy” Sekowe. Just half of his fans alone are not aware of his real name. While you can be surprised where the name Maphorisa came from, most people are still finding it hard to believe his real age. The DJ has been in the music industry for year’s now, even though his recent move to the Amapiono genre was the one that made him more popular, he has been making music since the early 2000 when he was part of the famous Uhuru group know for the track “Ytjukutja”.

When most people see his flashy and fun lifestyle they always wonder why the Dj is living large like this as he should be gearing up to settle down. He has no wife and no known girlfriend. He is way younger than Dj Black Coffee and people hardly believe it. He is even younger than Dj Shimza. The country always seems to assume he is very old, it yet not known if its because of his demeanour or persona.

He previously announced his actual age on Instagram when he posted his driver’s licence but soon removed it. His actual age is 32 years. He was born on 15 November in 1987, he is a child of the capital city Pretoria. He was born in Soshanguve where he lived most of his life up until his fame. The only reason he is loving like a rock star is because he is young.

One of the reasons some think he is old is because he started his career at a very young age. According to him, he got his musical taste from his mother who was part of the Dj society when he grew up. He says he used to have more than 10000 songs collected on his computer that he couldn’t wait to share with his friends.

Although he has now been limited to Amapiono by his fan base, the Dj is also a great versatile producer. He has produced songs with Drake and Major Lazar. All his accomplishments never made him forget his street-cred. He is loved by the ones from the hood the most as they feel money never changed him.

So next time you see Dj Maphorisa and wonder when is he settling down, just know he is still getting started on his 30s, he is a very young man.
