South Africa has been hit by a hit song John Vuli Gate recently and there were immediately trending videos and hashtags on social media platforms. The streets have been buzzing with the song since and it follows in the footsteps of Jerusalema, probably.
The song has now hit the famous music search engine, Shazam and it has reportedly debuted in the global chart. Tongues are wagging, legs are moved and bodies are responding when the song is played and the song is not on the 45th spot globally.
The presence of the song locally is also felt as it has now taken the number one spot in the national chart, according to Shazam.
The creators of the song, Mapara a Jazz, have expressed their gratitude when speaking to Daily Sun.
“To have people Shazam our song around the world is a dream come true for us. People all over are taking part in the dance challenge of John Vuli Gate and are loving the song,” They told Daily Sun.
Furthermore, Mapara A Jazz are thrilled to have their song debut on Shazam and also for its spot on the global chart as well as the national chart. They think that happens because people love their song and want to stream it.
The biggest promoters of the song were arguably the girls that were seen on a video dancing at a filling station in Kwamhlanga, Mpumalanga and that immediately activated the vibe of the song to even those who didn’t know it.
The girls who have created that video will apparently be featured in the music video, but now the challenge is activated and people are responding positively to the song.
The girls: Tšhegofatšo Maepa, Katlego Mohlahlo, Kgomotso Aphane, Oratilwe Mokwatlo and Lebogang Motlane said that they were not even expecting their video to trend as they were merely celebrating a friend’s birthday.
Another dance challenge has been accepted in South Africa, let’s ensure social distancing is observed when accepting the challenge.
