Education and Career
Tino Chinyani attended St. John’s preparatory school where he then went onto St. John’s college. Whilst there, he was the deputy head boy, basketball captain, represented u19 Zimbabwe rugby & was a member of the interact society. Moving to South Africa to further his studies. Tino studied Marketing & management at Monash University.
He was voted Gauteng D2 league MVP. Mr Monash 2014 & voted 3rd most influential student 2015.
After winning the competition he dabbled in modelling a bit but his big break came as a result of his Instagram account. South Africa’s top modelling agency, Boss Models, came across his profile and signed him on the spot! Tino Chinyani’s career as a model has opened several doors for him and he has modelled for several brands in South Africa and internationally, including Jet Stores and Mobicel.
After being signed to Boss models in 2015 he has featured in campaigns for Polo, Axe, Garnier, McDonald’s, Edgar’s to name a few. Tino has walked the ramp for designers such as Maxhosa, David Tlale, Sheria Ngowi, Tokyo James, Rich Mnisi and made appearances at Menshealth shows as well as the sun city royal escape.
After making an appearance on the MTV VJ search, Tino co-hosted (with Denise Zimba) the Channel O music lifestyle show Top 5 Drive, in which the duo give celebrities a “complimentary” Channel O ride, wherein they discuss the person’s favourite music tracks, career highlights and industry news.
We first saw Chinyani as one of the finalists on MTV Base VJ Search in 2017, and ever since then he has hosted Channel O’ Top 5 with Denise Zimba, walked the runway for some of SA’s biggest designers and he is currently a host on etv’s The Morning Show.
He has walked the ramp for designers such as Sheria Ngowi, and made appearances at shows such as, Mercedes Benz Fashion week, SA Fashion week, Lexus Menswear Week.
Love life
Some time ago there were rumours that he was in a romantic relationship with South African socialite and businesswoman Faith Nketsi. However, those rumours were never confirmed. In the second week of August 2020, he revealed that he and his girlfriend, actress Simphiwe Ngema are expecting.
