Award-winning rapper, AKA, is amongst the many South African celebrities who have spoken up about the death of Nathaniel Julius, who was killed in an unwarranted police attack. Taking to Twitter today, 28 August 2020, AKA spoke out about the matter, and offered assistance to the victim’s family.

In what appeared to be a sincere inquiry about donating money, turning into social media pandemonium, as tweeps questioned him on why he did not donate privately and chose to share it with his thousands of followers. People began accusing him of chasing the clout that went along with being a celebrity philanthropist, and claimed that if he really cared, it would have been done without letting any know.
AKA began clapping back at the trolls who questioned his intentions, and clarified that he is not one of those celebrities who retweets about issues, and actually puts his money where his mouth is. He stated, “People think they so f*cking influential. RT this, hashtag that and walk around for the rest of the day like they saving the world… wake up people!!!”.
