Following the damning allegations made against them just over a week ago, The Fergusons have hit back hard at actor Mlamli Mangcala. Mangcala who used to play the role of Captain Sthembiso Radebe on The Queen quit the hit TV show alleging deception and exploitation by powerhouse couple and acting veterans, Connie Ferguson and her husband Shona Ferguson.
Mangcala alleged that his pay and allowances were so paltry to the extent that Ferguson Films was making him pay for him to appear on television. The Fergusons are normally not in the habit of responding to most of the allegations made against them. However, following Mangcala’s damning accusations, the power couple has hit back this time.
The Fergusons, through their spokesperson Lauren Neil Nel, denied allegations that Mangcala received a pay increase of only R100. They denied any wrongdoing and said that Mangcala was even paid when he had not done any work. This is not the first time that the Fergusons have been accused of exploiting actors who work for them. Last year, seasoned actress Vatiswa Ndara wrote an open letter to sports, arts and culture minister Nathi Mthethwa highlighting her experiences working for the Fergusons. The letter was not flattering to the Fergusons.
Rami Chuene was also reportedly killed off from The Queen after her relationship with the Fergusons deteriorated when she allegedly sided with Vatiswa.
