Lunga Mofokeng (born 12 July 1996) is a South African actor, MC, and internet personality. He is best known for playing Andile Dikane, character in the television series The River.
Playing the role, the actor aims to master in honor of the LGBTQI+ community. Andile is a non-flamboyant son of the opulent Dikane family.
Lunga Mofokeng was born on 12 July 1996 in Katlehong, on the East Rand. He developed an interest in performing arts in high school. Though, he left the art for a while and later picked up from where he left off.
A friend of his, in grade 10, introduced him to acting. After engaging in contests and finishing at the top, Lunga gave acting a shot. He won the runner-up for best-performing actor at a festival in his school.Mofokeng continued to win more accolades. He was the best actor in the next year. His ability to narrate a story on another person’s behalf fueled his love for acting. The acting talent tells an African story through his body with ease.Lunga attended a high school in Kahlehong and matriculated from school in 2015. He studied acting for camera and live performances at CityVarsity at the Braamfontein Campus in Johannesburg.
Although he fell in love with acting in high school, Lunga furthered his acting career in 2015. His agency discovered him during one of his school plays.
Different agents watched their final performance during their graduation year. An agent loved his way of acting and signed him after he graduated.
Lunga auditioned at a theatre company in 2017 and interned there for months. He attended more auditions and landed a young cameo role in Ring Of Lies.
