Zwai Bala lays charge against Gordon’s Bay man who called him the K-word

TKZee singer Zwai Bala has shared news of a disturbing incident in which he was racially abused by a stranger while dining out in Gordon’s ay.

The kwaito star – whose brothers are Loyiso and Phelo – claims the incident took place in the holiday destination earlier this month while he was enjoying a family dinner.


 

 

The eldest Bala brother has since laid a charge of hate speech against the man.In a clip posted on social media, Zwai Bala reveals how a Gordon’s Bay owner hurled a racial slur at him during a family dinner.

The Bala Family star claims he was with his brothers at a restaurant in Harbour Island when a man approached them and allegedly began harassing them. He also claims that the man was supported by other restaurant patrons who “pushed” them around and threatened them.

Zwai added: “As black people, we get managed, and we had to [exit] through different doors

“The Gordons Bay and Strand area are highly racist. We need to make a statement.”

Meanwhile, the EFF in the Cape Metro revealed they had supported Zwai Bala and his family as they filed a charge against the man who called them a racial slur.

The matter was recently heard in the Strand Magistrates Court.
