The multi-award-winning singer’s mother, Nokhaya Mkutukana, confirmed the talks.
“God is good. We will heal. We don’t want our daughter’s story to go untold. She was our pillar of strength. We are still in talks with the SABC. We are from the rural area thina, we don’t know these things, but people will help guide us so we can go about it the right way.”

CLEARING THE AIR
Since Zahara’s hospitalisation in November last year, there were various reports citing family drama which also included her fiancée, Mpho Xaba.
Some of the reports included claims that Loliwe hitmaker’s sisters, Lumka and Bandezwa, had been going on shopping sprees while the singer fought for her life at a private hospital in Johannesburg. There were also reports about the family allegedly not recognising Mpho as Zahara’s husband even after he was said to have paid some of the lobolo.
According to the source, Zahara’s family is looking to clear the air on such reports and set the record straight.
“It has not been easy. There has been a lot of speculation and conflicts which will be cleared.”
However, it is not clear if Mpho will be given an opportunity to tell his side if the story.
“He has been painted out to be a bad guy. If the family could allow him to be part of the show because he is an integral part of her last days, it would be fair to give him a chance to speak about what they had.”
