Thabo Mkhabela, famous for playing Leshole Mabitsela in the SABC 1 drama Skeem Saam, has been promoted to Casting Director.

Before his promotion, the actor had not appeared in the soapie in months.

 

 
Speaking to Sunday World recently, Mkhabela said he has “learned a lot” throughout his Skeem Saam journey.

“I joined Skeem Saam after I finished my degree, and I must say performance-wise I have grown, and it has been amazing to experience. I did not really leave the soapie. I have been working behind the scenes as a casting director, and I am grateful to have been given that opportunity,” he told the paper. “It is breathtaking because I actually go find the people who fit the character or role written in the script.”

Mkhabela says viewers can “expect to see a nice storyline with many twists.”

Hungani Ndlovu joins Skeem Saam
Leading up to season 12 Skeem Saam, actor Hungani Ndlovu has joined the talented cast as the new T’bose Maputla.

T’Bose was initially played by Cornett Mamabolo until he left the show in season 9 to focus on his business interests.

The 1st episode of Season 12 will see the return of Thabo ‘Tbose’ Maputla’ under unfavorable circumstances that threaten to tear a young couple apart.

In addition to this, actor Tazz Nginda, will be playing the character of Sisanda Qhubeka – a charming, marketing strategist who oozes sex appeal and great confidence. But not everyone will welcome him with open arms, as he subtly stirs trouble that leaves the Maphosa kingdom divided.
