Banyana Banyana star Refiloe Jane is a fan-favourite among South African soccer fans. Among them is her number one supporter, Christa Kgamphe-Jane – who is her wife.
HOW THE COUPLE MET
The pair have been together for nine years and have been married for two. However, they are in a long-distance marriage as Refiloe is based in Italy where she plays for US Sassuolo Calcio Femminile.
“The distance is tough but it is something I am now used to, we miss each other a lot so to make sure that we stay close and connected, we communicate a lot, we keep each other updated throughout the day to keep the romance going,” Christa says.

The Banyana WAG told SowetanLIVE that she met Refiloe whilst playing football for their respective tertiary institutions.
“I was playing for the University of Johannesburg and she was playing for VUT [Vaal University of Technology]. I remember just admiring her from afar but when we started speaking, I knew this is someone I’m going to have in my life for a long time.”

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT REFILOE JANE’S WIFE
1. Christa is older – there is a six-year age gap between the couple as Refiloe is 31 and her wife is 37.
- She has a career in sport – Christa is a sports manager, masseuse and lecturer.
