‘We’ve lost our breadwinner’ – Bongi Ntuli’s father on his son’s sudden death

With South Africans still to come to terms with the untimely death of AmaZulu talisman Bongi Ntuli, his father has opened up about his sudden death and last moments.

The club confirmed the star’s death over the weekend through a statement. Confirmed reports have it that he died at the Midlands Medical Centre Private Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.

In the backdrop of his death, his father has opened up about his last moments and his short illness. Speaking to Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000, Bongi Ntuli’s father, Thulani Ntuli, revealed that he was in good shape and was not seriously ill.

He has it that they were shocked by Bongi Ntuli’s death since it was a surprise. Bongi Ntuli’s father revealed that his health took a drastic decline on Sunday.

Speaking to Radio 2000, Thulani Ntuli said: “My son’s passing has shocked us. He was only in hospital for five days. Even during this time, he didn’t seem seriously ill, except for a flu. He was talking. The doctors told us he had cancer, but we’re not sure,ngoba phela siphila ezweni labantu.”

He went on to reveal that they had lost a bread. Thulani Ntuli made it known that Bongi Ntuli never forgot where he came from and was always supportive until his death. “We’ve lost our breadwinner. Bongi never forgot where he came from. He loved us so much and always brought joy when he was around,” said Ntuli.
