‘Barely 2 months into the marriage’: Tributes following AmaZulu striker Bongi Ntuli’s passing

Tributes and messages of condolencesare pouring in following the tragic passing of AmaZulu FC striker Bongi Ntuli.

BONGI NTULI WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER
The Durban-based football club announced Ntuli’s passing on Sunday, 5 November, in a statement.

“It is with a very heavy heart that we inform you of the untimely passing of our beloved centre-forward and loyal servant, Bonginkosi Ntuli,” read the statement.The club disclosed that Ntuli succumbed to cancer.


 

 

 

 

 

“Ntuli was (very recently) diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, which metastasized and ultimately led to his death at the Midlands Medical Centre Private Hospital, in Pietermaritzburg this afternoon.

“May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. The club requests privacy and patience be granted his family and friends at this difficult time.”

Football supporters have paid tribute to Ntuli who married AmaZulu Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sinenjabulo Zungu, in September this year.
The couple’s lavish wedding was hosted at the Zunguness venue in Balgowan KZN, which is owned by Sinenjabulo’s father and AmaZulu lresident, Sandile Zungu.

“The news of the untimely passing of Bonginkosi Ntuli after short illness hit us all hard as we were hopeful he will recover. He got married recently to AmaZulu FC, CEO Sinenjabulo Zungu. May God sends strength to family & friends.South Africa has indeed lost a talented striker.”
