American actress Jada Pinkett-Smith has once again managed to leave social media users feeling completely stunned with new shocking details about her marriage to famous actor Will Smith. The Girls Trip actress revealed that she and Will have been separated since 2016. This came as a surprise to many who questioned why Will slapped comedian Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscar Award ceremony.

Their question was just answered by Jada who told People Magazine that Chris Rock had “asked her out” after he heard rumours that she and Will were getting divorced.

The actress and talkshow host sat down with a tell-all interview with NBC News’ Hoda Kotb.

In a snippet of the primetime special, she reveals that she and the I Am Legend star have been separated for the last seven years.

This came as a shocker for many — especially since Will all but ended his career after slapping comedian Chris Rock for joking about Jada’s bald head during the 2022 Oscar Award ceremony.According to Jada in a People Magazine exclusive, Chris said that he wanted to take her out after hearing rumours that she and Will were heading for divorce.

“He called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors.’” she told the publication.

She also added that he had apologised profusely and they both moved on from it.
