‘OH, MAN… THIS IS GREAT’: ALICIA KEYS ON TIKTOK’S KHANYISA JACENI’S SINGING
Alicia Keys is one of a few singers who has been able to preserve her stardom for generations and generations with her timeless songs Fallin, You Don’t Know My Name, Girl on Fire, No One, and more. She recently came across a South African artist, Khanyisa Jaceni singing one of her newer songs titled Unthinkable and was evidently captivated by the local star’s vocals and talent.

She decided to film herself reacting to the video which has since been widely spread on X (the social media platform formally known as Twitter). After social media users watched the American star’s reaction in the clip, they were left divided in the comment section with some of them impressed and others cringing.

Jaceni (28) is reaching for the stars. She has come a long way from her days creating TikTok videos just for the fun of it. She’s recently boasted about appearing on a New York Times Square billboard. This comes after Spotify chose her to be their Equal Africa ambassador. Speaking about how far she’s come, Jaceni said, “I’m the TikToker who’s now on TV,” Mail & Guardian quoted her as saying. “We have so many good female vocalists in SA… We sometimes don’t give them enough credit🔥,” @Kay_Xcel said.

“That time Khanyisa is talking about God and Alicia Keys o busy Ka mojolo [relationships] 💀💀💀😭😭😭,” @Matema wrote.

“This is great” amanga [lies]. Alicia…please be honest hle😭😭😭😭,” @Lumkagirl replied.

“I’m sorry but no this is cringe,” @JRens commented.

“I’m struck by how she translated the song 🙌🏿… what a delivery 🤞🏿,” @MD_puresuccess responded.
