Shauwn Mkhize: South Africa’s multifaceted media

Shauwn Mkhize, also known as Dr Shauwn Mkhize or Mam’Mkhize, is a renowned South African socialite, TV personality, businesswoman, and philanthropist. She has gained significant attention due to her extravagant lifestyle, which includes driving luxury cars worth millions of rands, travelling extensively, and residing in a stunning mansion. As one of the wealthiest celebrities in South Africa, she is a prominent figure in the public eye.


 

 

 

Early Life and Background
Born on 6 April 1976 in Umbumbulu, KwaZulu-Natal, Mam’Mkhize is currently 45 years old. She was raised by her parents, Mkhize and Florence Mkhize, who were ANC activists during the white apartheid rule.

Education
Mam’Mkhize holds a Diploma in Accounting from ML Sultan Technikon, now known as Durban University of Technology. In 2021, she was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Philosophy by the Good Shepherd College of Religion, Culture and TrainingCareer
Mam’Mkhize embarked on her career several decades ago. In the early 2000s, she established Zikhulise Group, a parent company to several small businesses including Zikhulise Auto Restorers, Inyanaga Security Services, and Zikhulise Cleaning Maintenance and Transport (ZCMT).

In 2019, she assumed the role of president of the Royal AM football club (formerly Real Kings), which is currently managed by her son. She also starred in her own reality TV show, Kwa Mam’Mkhize, which aired on DSTV channel Mzansi Magic. In 2021, she made her debut on SABC1’s prime-time telenovela Uzalo with her children.

Personal Life
Mam’Mkhize was previously married to former Metro police officer and businessman Sbu Mpisane. The couple wedded in 2001 but separated in 2018 following allegations of infidelity on Sbu’s part. They have a son named Andile Mpisane who is a professional footballer for RoyalAM FC. Mam’Mkhize is also the stepmother to Sbahle Mpisane, a fitness guru and socialite.
