In a video doing the rounds on X (the social media platform formally known as Twitter) since it was posted on Tuesday, 12 September, uMngeni Local Municipality Mayor Christopher Pappas revealed that the Democratic Alliance has paid tribute to the late Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, by generously gifting royal family three cows.

On Saturday morning, 9 September, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the death of the late Founder and President Emeritus of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
“I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the Prince of KwaPhindangene,” he wrote on his timelines.
The country has since been pouring in their tributes and sending their condolences to the Buthelezi family.

Recently, uMngeni Local Municipality Mayor Christopher Pappas shared that the DA has gifted the royal family three cows as tribute.
“I was summoned to bid farewell to Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi by the Democratic Alliance. We arrived today with three animals to mourn with the Buthelezi family and the Zulu nation. As the Democratic Alliance we say, ‘Rest in peace’,” Pappas said.
Due to his work ethic and people skills, earlier this year, the 32-year-old uMngeni local municipality mayor was said to be named DA premier candidate for KZN, Mail & Guardian reported.

ABOUT THE LATE IFP FOUNDER’S FUNERAL
Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi will be laid to rest on Saturday at the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Regional Stadium in Ulundi in northern KwaZulu-Natal, SABC reported. President Cyril Ramaphosa has reportedly offered the late Prince a Special Official Category One funeral.
