The news of the 36-year-old’s passing was confirmed by his London-based agency Carey Dodd Associates, on social media, on Tuesday, 15 August.
“It is with deep sadness we have to tell you that our dear friend and client Darren Kent passed away peacefully on Friday. His parents and best friend by his side. Our thoughts and love are with his family in this difficult time. RIP, my friend,” the agency said.
In another post, his agency described him as more than just an actor.
“Darren was not only a talented actor, director and writer, he was truly one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. It has been a privilege and pleasure to have been a part of his journey.”Kent’s agency told Fox News Digital that the award-winning actor (also know as Darren Harper) passed away last Friday surrounded by his family and closest friends.
According to the publication, Kent suffered from an extremely rare skin disorder and battled osteoporosis and arthritis.
The actor made his screen credit debut in 2004 in the original series Shameless.
Four years later, he appeared in horror film Mirrors. In 2012 he featured in the Snow White and the Huntsman movie alongside Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Stewart and South African-born actress Charlize Theron.
In the American fantasy drama television series, Game of Thrones, Kent appeared as a goatherder.
