South African actress Pearl Thusi has found herself in the midst of controversy following her recent visit to Zimbabwe. Allegations have emerged that she expressed support for the supposedly oppressive Zanu-PF Zimbabwean government. The accusations gained traction as they coincided with the impending elections in the country.
Critics accused Pearl Thusi of promoting the Zimbabwean government, which raised concerns about her stance on the upcoming elections. However, in response to these claims, the actress asserted her innocence, stating that she was completely unaware of any impending elections. She clarified that her trip to Zimbabwe was solely motivated by the desire to explore the renowned tourist attraction, Victoria Falls.
“I didn’t even know there were elections coming up. I just wanted to go to Victoria Falls,” Pearl Thusi remarked in her defense. She added that her visit was intended for leisure and enjoyment, without any underlying political motives. “I don’t have any regrets whatsoever,” she affirmed, standing by her decision to visit Zimbabwe purely for leisure purposes.
