Dr. Nandipha appears to be a woman who would choose Thabo Bester over anything else in an instant.

This is one of the comments made in response to the first reunion of Dr. Nandipha Magudumana, the lover of convicted murderer and rapist Bester, and Bester since their imprisonment in Arusha, Tanzania.

 

Together with 10 other suspects connected to his daring escape from Mangaung Maximum Security Prison in May of last year, Bester and Magudumana appeared in court on Tuesday in Bloemfontein.

Before things got started, the couple was seen holding hands and appearing glad to see each other.

Bester was wearing a blue and white Louis Vuitton jumper, while Magudumana had a new hairstyle. Bester’s hoodie may or may not have been real.

A Louis Vuitton sweater that Bester wore in June costs $1,655 (about R31,100), according to an online fashion portal. He made an appearance in May wearing an R19,000 black Burberry hoodie.

When Bester was arrested, according to his attorney, various items were reportedly stolen from him by police and prison guards. A laptop, wedding ring, watches, and luxury goods from Louis Vuitton and Burberry are among the items.

Aside from rand, dollars, and pounds, there was also allegedly stolen money in Tanzanian and Zambian currencies.

All save Magudumana and Bester of the 10 accused were given bail. The matter has been continued until October 11 so that more research can be done.
