Hustler’: Dr Malinga does NPC for cash on TikTok

A new trend has taken social media by storm and it is just as bizarre as it is hilarious. The trend, which was seemingly started by an American TikToker called Pinkydoll, sees people doing livestream videos of themselves making strange sounds and behaving like a videogame NPC, or non-playable character. In return, those tuned in to the live send virtual gifts (i.e. monetary tokens) to the streamers. And now SA musician Dr Malinga has joined in.

A short clip of the singer behaving like a NPC has been shared on Twitter and garnered hilarious reactions from locals who commended his hustling spirit.

In the past, South Africans all came together to donate money to Via Orlando hitmaker Dr Malinga who opened up about facing financial difficulties.

While the donations went a long way, it would appear the hitmaker is still looking for ways to make money.

Taking to TikTok, Dr Malinga joined a number of other app users in behaving like a video game characters on live streams in order to receive virtual gifts such as monetary tokens from viewers.

In a short clip which has made its way on Twitter, Malinga can be seen making bizarre sounds not unlike popular TikToker and originator of the trend Pinkydoll.

Take a look below:South African social media users find it absolutely hilarious. Many of them have praised his hustler ways.

“This guy is a real hustler yaz mara,” one person remarked. Another added:

“pinkydoll really out here inspiring the masses to secure the bag.”
