WGA strike started in May when 11 000 unionised TV and movie writers declared a strike after failed negotiations with production companies. According to IOL, negotiations with production companies focused on writer compensation and other issues, like the use of artificial intelligence in script writing.

Thuso Mbedu is the latest celeb to join the Hollywood writers strike. Quinta Brunson, Vin Diesel, Tina Fey, Pete Davidson, Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt are some of the celebs that have joined the WGA Writers Strike, reported by Popsugar.

Because of this strike, actors who are part of the WGA union are not allowed to promote their old, current, or upcoming onscreen projects.
