Prior to Riky’s untimely death, Cassper and Riky’s relationship never really recovered after they fell out in 2019. While reasons for the beef are unknown both artists have hinted on what could have happened.
“The Riky one is very sad, that was my brother, and I keep saying that it hurts because I never thought there’d be a day where I don’t speak to Riky. You could be angry and whatever, but I genuinely don’t want to talk to him. I don’t want to solve it. Right now it’s where I am… Maybe one day we’ll connect on a different level. Not as artists but as parents. And maybe that will happen. But as Mauthi fela I think it was destroyed for like nothing”, Cassper shared during an interview with Banques and Venom in 2021.
Fast forward to 2023, a little over a year since Riky’s death, it’s evident that Cassper is some what regretful that he didnt fully mend things with the Boss Zonke rapper.
“We were not on the greatest of terms. One of my biggest regrets was me not being able to tell him how much I loved that video. Riky was my idol. He was everything I wanted to be. I never got to share that enough”, Cassper shared at Riky’s memorial in March 2022.
Riky would have celebrated his 36th Birthday on Thursday, 20 July.
