Titled Nkalakatha: the Life of Mandoza, the six-part biopic tells the true-life story of the legendary Kwaito muso.
The film stars actor Wiseman Mncube in the titular role.
DID YOU SPOT THIS ERROR?
Following the trailer’s release, one eagle-eyed social media user spotted a factual error in the biopic’s storyline.
@Bonisile_RMS tweeted: “Why is he being arrested in a 2015 Toyota Hilux in a scene I assume is set in the 1990s?
“Mandoza was arrested in 1994. The minute you see a car with Bluetooth and airbags for that scene something in you must click ukuthi ‘Nooooh maan’”
The tweep was referring to Mandoza’s 1994 arrest for stealing a car. The then 16-year-old star spent a year and a half in Diepkloof Prison as a result.
